After launching an AI tool to aid product development, I turned my attention to an area I know well—Scrum Master certification. With the increasing complexity of Agile practices, I’ve been developing an AI-driven exam preparation tool that helps people prepare efficiently and effectively for their Scrum Master exam.

This tool, built using ChatGPT’s “My GPTs” feature, is designed to help learners master the Scrum Guide with a focus on real-time, interactive learning and feedback. Unlike static study guides or practice tests, this AI-powered training module adapts to the learner’s needs, offering a personalized learning path.

Here’s how I built it:

1. Starting with “Add a New GPT”
   ChatGPT makes it simple to create your own GPT. I set it up to present learners with randomized exam-style questions based on a curated set of 99 core questions. These questions form the foundation, ensuring learners are tested on every key concept in the Scrum Guide.

2. Using Practice Questions and Scrum Guide References
   I incorporated not only multiple-choice questions but also detailed references to the Scrum Guide. If a learner answers incorrectly or seems uncertain, the tool provides immediate feedback and relevant excerpts from the guide to explain why the correct answer is important.

3. Creating a Conversation-Based Learning Process
   The tool doesn’t just quiz you—it holds a conversation. If a learner struggles, it provides gentle guidance, encouraging self-reflection and follow-up questions. For instance, after answering a question about the Sprint Goal, the tool might ask, “Why is it essential for the Scrum Team to define the Sprint Goal together?” This turns passive studying into an active, engaging process.

4. Expanding Beyond Basic Questions
   After each question, the tool presents variations and scenario-based questions to deepen understanding. By challenging learners with real-world scenarios and edge cases, it ensures they’re ready not only to pass the exam but also to apply Scrum effectively in their day-to-day work.

5. Progress Tracking and Adaptive Learning
   As learners progress, the AI tracks their performance. If certain areas are proving difficult, such as Scrum events or roles, the tool will automatically focus more on those areas until the learner demonstrates mastery. After every 10 questions, it provides a detailed breakdown of their strengths and areas to improve, and learners can choose specific topics to concentrate on next.
